DIY Family Games!!
Project 029 / 12-21-2020
By now, you may have all your Christmas shopping complete and all your gifts ready and wrapped up to be given away.
If there is still something missing from your Christmas gift list, or if there is a last-minute gift needed, then maybe this crafty idea can help.
You may also find that game board creation is a great school project for your children, or you can create an educational game to help your children learn a certain subject. This can also be a great birthday gift, etc.

You may also find that game board creation is a great school project for your children, or you can create an educational game to help your children learn a certain subject. This can also be a great birthday gift, etc.
Vision Ministers, Patsy and C'ann developed and made this game in one week's worth of time, and we're hoping it will inspire others to create their own games.
If you haven’t the time to create your own game, you can:
1 - copy and print the, Loving Coffee Game along with the instructions. You can make your own game pieces or find small objects from around your house, you will also need one dice (Be mindful of choking hazards). OR
2 - You can gather all the parts and pieces a game might require (e.g. dice, game pieces, blank cards, large card-stock (for game-board), fake currency, etc.), along with the creation tools needed to develop a game (e.g. pencils, pens, markers, coloring sticks, glue, rulers, stencils, scissors, recycled items, upcycled items, etc). You can box up these items and spend Christmas day developing a game with your family. Be mindful of choking hazards and sharp instruments. |

Get creative! Write down ideas on a piece of scrap paper and rough sketch concepts. Then get a large card-stock and pencil an outline for your game board. Once the outline is complete, start adding your game design details. Keep in mind that if you choose to use crayons (as we did), the wax buildup could make it difficult to add on details, lettering, etc. after you add your wax color. Therefore, you might want to add your color last once you have outlined and darkened in all of your details. If using pens or markers to darken details, allow to dry before applying crayons to limit smearing. Sometimes (if necessary) you can apply extra details over the wax coloring with a marker, just keep in mind that those last-minute details made with markers might smear later during game play.
The following is what we Vision Ministers, Patsy and C’Ann created when we heard about a possible shortage of toys and game boards this year. The game board we developed has coffee-loving adults in mind. Please note, that this game was developed by, A Cup Of Coffee With God Vision Ministry for personal enjoyment only. This Game can be printed and shared. Not to be sold. Not for corporate use. All rights reserved.
