Donation Tips
Important NOTE:
Before you donate to any cause, organization, and/or no-profit please do research and investigate to the best of your ability to be sure that your donation’(s) will be put to good use and managed responsibly. If you find a shop that you can donate items to, don’t forget to check the shop out first. Make sure that the shop does what it says, and that its donation drop-off location offers a safe, clean, and friendly atmosphere. |
Except in special situations and/or on special occasions, we always refrain from donating cash.
Another exception might be the using of cash on products (e.g. - at a store or action) that are sold to generate proceeds for a good cause.
Otherwise, we use cash to buy what is needed and/or what we want the funds to be spent on. What we know is needed.

We’ll then donate the items to the appropriate places.
Try to find causes that have local donation sites and/or donation boxes.
For Example: Find and Research
⦁ A shop that sells the goods and uses the funds, made from selling donated items, to bathe and feed the poor.
⦁ A young women shelter that needs donations of clothes, toiletries, and other necessities.
⦁ A VA Hospital or Retirement Center that needs donations of robes, slippers, games, and more.
⦁ An orphanage that needs school supplies, clothes, shoes, toys, and more.
⦁ A place that raises dogs for the blind or disabled, find out what food and pet donations they may need.
⦁ The lists goes on, and on, and on.

Donation Ideas
1 - Are you an artist and crafter?
⦁ Make and donate to someone in need.
⦁ Make and donate to an action that uses proceeds for a good cause.
⦁ Have a crafter party and then donate the items together at a donation center.
2 - Are you custom to buying $200.00 shoes?
⦁ Perhaps you may think about buying a pair of $100.00 shoes for yourself, and then buy a pair of shoes for $20.00. You’ll save about $80.00 (a little less after taxes). Donate those twenty-dollar shoes (possibly on the way home from your shoe shopping trip). Just think about how wonderful those $100.00 shoes will feel, you knowing what they represent.
3 - Don’t throw away that holy shirt!
⦁ Instead, wash it and take it with you the next time you’re out and about. When you see a clothing donation box (that you’ve previously researched and trust), throw it in. They use those past-there-prime clothing as cleaning rags.
4 - Are you finding it difficult to find the funds to donate?
⦁ Sometimes we want to help, but can’t find the extra bucks to give away. Perhaps you have something around the house. Is there anything you can part with?
⦁ Food that is still good yet will be outdated before you and your family/friends can consume.
⦁ Clothing that is cluttering up the depths of your closets.
⦁ Shoes your eyes loved but your feet rejected.
⦁ That jacket you never would have purchased if it hadn’t been on sale.

You never know when your clutter can become someones treasure once a shop sells it. The shop then uses the funds from the sales of those treasures to feed the less fortunate.
