Once upon a time, in a time not so long ago necessities were the gifts given and received. Especially during the Christmas season, the task of gift givers was to consider what was needed or what could be beneficial.
Nowadays, it seems that gifts are valued by brand and popularity. Many gift givers stress themselves with searching for gifts that will be appreciated based on popular demand. They memorize the merchandise that topped an online most wanted list'(s), and they may even freak out if an in-demand-item is out-of-stock.
Sometimes those who receive a gift'(s), find themselves stressed or even depressed over not receiving the on-demand item'(s) that they were hoping for, or possibly what they were praying for.
Then there are the many gift givers who are giving donations in hopes that they will receive something they want (not need) in return. Perhaps these gift givers are even praying for this to be the case.
When we really think about it, is it really polite to pray and ask God for unneeded things?
Pray and ask God for the needs to live a decent and safe life, not to live a rich life.
When you give, you should not expect to receive in return. Give from the heart, and when you give you will feel something good inside of yourself. That feeling will come from knowing that you gave from the heart without expecting something in return.
Pray and ask God for life, health, for safety, worry free days, for family, etc. etc.
Give and you shall receive is not why you should give.
Appreciate what is given to you, and give from your heart.
If you donate, be sure to check out the charity center you choose to make donations to. You want to be curtain that your donations are put to good use. Furthermore, make sure that the environment of the donation location is a safe place for you.
